I may be wrong, but I believe "diversity" is an old wooden ship used during the Civil War era.


This is the cover of next week's Sports Illustrated... nothing like a good old SI cover jinx to help you out of a 1-8 tailspin, right Mets?

I'm curious to see if the article will cover Gary Sheffield's recent comments about why there aren't more black players in Major League Baseball, or mention that the Mets' main division rivals have exactly one African-American on their active roster (Willie Harris... who, by the way, is a Dale Murphy fan). But I'm also entertained by how much this cover reminds me of a bank advertisement:


I'm sure that Omar Minaya will have no trouble picking up an Asian woman before the trading deadline.
